May, 2008 From our President: The transition from hunting season to hunt test season is underway and it looks like it will be another great year for the Northeast Texas HRC. Plans are already underway for events this year, so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. I think we are off to a good start with the new website and t-shirts. They both should help get our name out there and benefit the club. Please let Tami Elrod know at the February meeting if you would like a t-shirt or hat. They will be available to club members at a discount price until the spring test. New grounds, food, and good participation have made our spring training days a huge success. Our April training day was focused on helping members prepare for the Grand. Congratulations to Grant Huff and crew on their success at the Spring Grand! Also, congratulations to all of our members on their success this spring in training and testing. We are busy planning summer and fall events that will include a De-Snaking clinic, Judges Seminar, and Upland Hunt. The De-Snaking Clinic will be held on August 9th in Tyler and the Judges Seminar will be the following Saturday, August 16th in Mt. Sylvan, Texas. Our annual Upland Hunt will on October 25th and 26th. Mark your calendars and remember to check the website for more information as we move closer toward these events. It has been a great year so far and I would like to thank everyone for all of their hard work. Remember, there are still plenty of club hat and t-shirts left.
